with Hilton Head Fishing Charters
Fly fishing is an exciting form of angling for beginners to practice and remains an exciting challenge for a lifetime of saltwater fishing throughout Hilton Head’s waterways.
You can catch fish on a fly (a lure that floats on the surface, unlike weighted bait) on any body of water. We’ll take you to our favorite inshore fishing spots where fly fishing is best.

Marshes and flats deep in the backcountry
Fly fishing is a serious sport for some. For others, it’s an excuse to get out there and enjoy the hidden treasures of Hilton Head’s gorgeous marshes and flats, tidal creeks and waterways.
Either way, there’s nothing like donning a pair of waders and stepping into the warm, shallow waters to literally immerse yourself in nature. Surrounded by broad live oaks, flowering magnolia trees and towering cabbage palmettos, you’ll spot snowy egrets, pelicans, hooded merganser ducks, bald eagles and beautiful saltwater fish swimming in from the Atlantic.
Catching fish on a fly is a bit more challenging than with weighted bait. Thankfully, any beginner can learn casting technique and look forward to spending a lifetime mastering it. Our fly fishing charters are fun for everyone. We’ll be more than happy to teach you how.
While inclement weather can spoil a nearshore fishing outing (up to three miles from shore), many inshore fishing spots provide sufficient cover from high winds and/or light rain. There is almost always an option for a fun and productive fly fishing trip in Hilton Head’s backcountry.
